Curtis James Jackson III is an American Rapper who has caused much controversy over his anti-social ways, his explicit album lyrics (Get Rich or Die Trying was his 2003 album shown above) and his public feuds. His drug dealing mother was shot when he was in his early teens leaving him to be brought up by his grandparents. Curtis got his first rapping break in 1996 after which his career went from strength to strength until he found himself involved in an ambush in 2000 in which he was allegedly shot nine times. It was while he was recovering in hospital that he decided to take himself seriously as a leader and a self made man. It was then that he started to read the works of Robert Green.
The book is a modern day "self help" business manual, taking stories from the life of 50 cent and contextualising them to an every day business philosophy. The key learning surrounds the management of fear. The book states that there is too much fear in today's society. 21st century America is safer and more equitable than ever while its people seem paralysed by fear and unable to move forward. This book offers up strategies and insights for self development and helps people everywhere to learn not to fear the moving of the cheese. The book draws some parallels with the Secret in as much as we should visualise success in order to help us reach our goals.

She said: "After his first album 'Infinite' flopped, he reinvented himself as white trailer trash with a crazy welfare mom. I was shocked when I first heard the lyrics - but he constantly reassured me it was all a big joke. I went along with it for Marshall's sake."

God of War Collection Review

God of War was one of the greatest games on the PS2, garnering much praise for its cinematic style and smooth gameplay.

Its sequel, God of War II, was praised in the same areas, and for pushing the PS2 to its absolute limit. The God of War Collection combines these two great games into one cheap package and promises a few graphical upgrades. The question is: Is the God of War Collection worth it? Yes, provided you haven’t played these games before.
Starting up the God of War Collection on your PS3, you are presented with a pretty basic menu that simply asks which of the two games you’d like to play. Once chosen, you’re brought to the same exact main menu presented in the original PS2 versions. Starting a new game presents the same opening cinematics and all. To put it bluntly: these are the same exact games as in the original PS2 editions.The graphics in the God of War games were always top-notch, and they still generally hold up in the Collection. One of the most touted features of this collection is that the games run at 720p and 60 frames per second. This generally makes the games look better, but it also tends to show off the low polygon counts therein. Still, it is a nice upgrade that newcomers and returning players should appreciate. However, some of the pre-rendered CGI scenes stick out like a sore thumb. These pre-rendered scenes were not originally rendered in 720p, which is what the rest of the game renders at, so they tend to be a bit grainy and pixelated compared to the in-game scenes.
Another exclusive feature to these versions is the added trophy support. I consider myself to be a goal-oriented game player, so these were a welcome addition to these new, updated versions. They vary from defeating certain bosses, collecting power-ups, and beating the games at different difficulties.
The aforementioned are the only things that are new in the God of War Collection, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. With the upgrade to 60 FPS and 720p, the games look as beautiful as ever. On the one hand, for newcomers to the series, this is the best way to experience these games, so they are highly recommend to anyone playing them for the first time. On the other, for those coming back for a second taste, it’s difficult to recommend because there is nothing new to draw you in, except the updated graphics.
However, this collection retails for only $40 and includes the God of War 3 demo along with trophy support, so picking this up still wouldn’t be a bad idea for those looking to play through them again. Plus, this collection shows just how great the God of War games were and still are, and the God of War 3 demo gives a nice taste of what is still to come for the series.

ESRB Cites 'Strong Sexual Overtones' In 'Assassin's Creed 2'

The ESRB pointed its finger at sexual content when it placed a Mature rating on "Assassin's Creed 2," and the spoiler-laden explanation they gave goes into even further detail.

The new sequel has apparently bolstered its content with "sexual overtones" and at least one "seduction mini-game."
"The game contains strong sexual overtones," according to the ESRB. "During one 'seduction mini-game,' players are able to press buttons to kiss a woman and remove her dress; with the woman's back facing the camera, the two characters lower to bed and blow out a candle."
Though no one appears to be getting naked in "AC2," the game does get called out for it's profanity and explicit script.
"Some scenes take place inside brothels, though no nudity or sexual acts are depicted," the report states. "The dialogue contains the following sexual references: 'So the whip or the paddle today?' and 'Does your wife know about your page-boy fantasies, Captain?'"
Character backstories also contain references to "adultery, sodomy, prostitution, and rape," which together with the aforementioned details firmly placed the title in the Ratings Board's Mature bracket.
So don't go into "AC2" expecting explicit visual titillation, but it sounds like the script and story have sufficient subject matter to warrant an M on the box, which, it should be noted, was exactly what the first "Assassin's Creed" received as well.

Twitter Starts Charging in Japan

We knew it would happen at some point. Twitter is introducing a new payment model that will charge Japanese followers to view tweets from premium accounts..

Twitter, the popular micro-blogging service, is supposedly worth … a lot of money. Business valuations range from the slightly ridiculous to the utterly obscene. The fact is: no one knows. Twitter is valued on its potential to earn money — which is probably just as well because it’s not making any.
The changes to Twitter in Japan were announced at the Mobidec2009 conference by Kenichi Sugi, chief operating officer of DG Mobile (one of Twitter’s Japanese investors). From January 2010, Twitter users will be able to charge followers who want to read their tweets. Monthly charges will range from $1.15 to $11.60 (US Dollars); the account holder will receive 70% with the rest going to Twitter itself. Followers can opt to pay their subscription fees by credit card or as an additional payment on their mobile phone bill.
Twitter regularly uses the Japanese market to assess new features. Currently, Japan is the only country where Twitter makes any money — primarily because it permits web page advertisements. Twitter has made no announcement regarding other territories, but premium accounts will certainly appear if the project becomes a success.
Will it work? I’m not convinced many Twitter users would be able to charge for their inane ramblings, but who knows? However, premium accounts could work for:
agencies providing up-to-date news and gossip, or
companies offering personalized information services, e.g. sending you a tweet when your web server goes down or when a share price reaches a certain level.
Even then, the information is usually available elsewhere on the Internet for little or no cost.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen

It's been a long, strange journey for Guitar Hero: Van Halen.

After being announced with little fanfare from Activision, the game was then buried into a corner of the Sony booth at E3 2009, like a shamed child sitting in the corner with a dunce cap on. The game resurfaced again during the early fall in an even more dubious fashion – it was being given away for approximately zero dollars with the purchase of Guitar Hero 5, months before the official release... three days before Christmas. Games that ultimately get canceled don't get buried like this game has been. That's what makes it all the more surprising that this third attempt at a band-specific Guitar Hero game isn't all that bad; it's actually pretty decent, with a good selection of songs that are pretty fun to play, especially on guitar. Sure, it's about a band that hasn't been culturally relevant since Bill Clinton was president, and the game itself completely ignores all Van Halen tunes after 1985, making the game even less relevant to modern music fans. But it's still Guitar Hero, the franchise is still pretty enjoyable, and GH: Van Halen is no exception. Unless you're a Sammy Hagar fan. Then you're probably sad.

Mafia Wars Creator: "We Did Every Horrible Thing in the Book"

Earlier this week, we delivered the news that EA purchased the social-networking focused developer Playfish for $300 million.

In the wake of that, our own John Davison penned a story opining about the value of other casual-gaming developers. One such company--in fact, the biggest of them, Zynga--has admitted it used less-than-ethical tactics to acquire revenue from customers.
Techcruch recently unveiled footage of Zynga CEO Mark Pincus speaking to a group at an tech startup mixer about the methods Zynga used to make their earliest products profitable. The lowlight of his speech is the admission that "I did every horrible thing in the book to, just to get revenues right away."
Particularly, Pincus jokes about how one game encouraged players to download Zwinky, a notoriously difficult to remove toolbar, according to Ignite Social Media.
As John pointed out earlier this week, this part of the game industry is still in its earliest days. If it hopes to catch up with the rest of the industry, more regulations and ethical standards will have to be developed and implemented.

New Super Mario Bros

New Super Mario Bros was originally released on the DS and was an instant hit!

Why wouldn’t it be, it’s Nintendo, and it’s Mario? The series has now found its way to the Wii, the classic side-scrolling game has great feelings of nostalgia, great visuals despite being 2D and wonderful gameplay. Yep, if there’s one Nintendo game you’re getting this holiday season, it should definitely be New Super Mario Bros Wii. That is, unless you expect to play online.
New Super Mario Bros Wii (NSMB) goes back to the roots, to the 2D side scrolling action that made Mario famous, this time with revamped visuals (doh) and 4 player support. It’s safe to say that the multiplayer is the best part of the game, but we’ll get back to that later. The core gameplay hasn’t changed much since the original Super Mario debuted on the NES — you run around, jump around, solve puzzles and deal with tons of enemies, like those pesky brown mushrooms. However, if you get stuck, the game has a “Super mode”, which automatically plays through the level, giving you an example on how to complete the level. The mode can also be used to show hidden coins, passages etc. It’s a great feature, but it sort of takes away some of the “exploring” feel of playing, and it does feel a bit like cheating.
The multiplayer is where the game shines. At any point in the game, up to three friends can join you and help you through the level, which is great fun, as you might imagine. However, while one of your buddies plays as Luigi, the other two are generic Toad characters. What happened to Yoshi? Kirby? The dozen other Nintendo characters? There’s also a competitive multiplayer option, where you play against each other in a race to collect the most coins.
But, quite stunningly, and quite as expected, the game doesn’t support online multiplayer. This is really getting annoying from Nintendo’s part, as online multiplayer obviously would have made the game even better. But alas, it seems that Nintendo has pretty much given up on online gameplay on the Wii, and the console is hopelessly trailing its competitors. Nintendo seriously needs to get their act together and realize there’s a thing called “online gaming”.

But now, it gets even better. Keen-eyed fashionistas have noted the remarkable, some might say unfuckingcanny, resemblance between the cover image of the 47-year-old Ms. Moore and 26-year-old Anja Rubik's recent spin on the runway in the same Balmain swimsuit and wrap. The body, the pose, the position of the arms – they're all oddly similar.

Maybe it's just what they call in publishing a "coinkydink." In the story that coincides with the cover image, Kevin West says that, "One might say she looks her age, although hers is an undeniably striking version of middle age." "Striking," in this case, is apparently code for "exactly like a model 21 years her junior."The sad part, aside from the apparent lame-ass whopper of the whole thing, is that Moore, a stunning, talented actress and producer in her own right, claims in the story that she likes that people are "getting to see who I am." We're seeing somebody all right. But we're not convinced that someone is Moore.

As you can see from the title of my website – “Recording Wiz,” I’m all about making the whole recording process easy, whether it has to do with recording audio OR recording video. Mostly, here at www.recordingwiz.com, I talk about audio recording and podcasting, mainly because it’s much easier to listen to something at any time, than to have to watch while you’re listening. The adaptation of the sixth book in J.K. Rowling's seven-strong Potter series doesn't let us down. Stunning special effects, performances by a who's who of British acting talent, eccentric new characters, lots of action, plenty of tension, and a storyline that reveals as many secrets as it hides. Among all the doom and gloom there are still a few welcome laughs, mostly thanks to raging teenage hormones and love potions.
At 153 minutes, this is a lengthy and, at times, ponderous affair which could have done with some tightening. But it's what we have come to expect from the series - a good film, but one that hints the best is yet to come.
Verdict: A good solid effort from director David Yates and the perfect lead-in to a grand finale.

Patrondidit! The Buzz Continues

Maybe late last year you saw the TV ad for Patrón tequila in which a rippled god and a sultry goddess are lying in bed, relaxing and clearly pleased with whatever they have just done.

"The Perfect Girl," says a caption over his head. "The Perfect One Night Stand," says a caption by hers.
If you did see it, savor the memory. You won't see it again. Seems it suggested too strongly alcohol consumption and sexual activity might be connected. Imagine that.
Who would ever think alcohol could play a role in lubricating a social relationship?
The answer to that question, of course, is "everyone." The proven value of alcohol in breaking down inhibitions is precisely why some people think no one should ever drink it while others urge its consumption at every chance.
This consensus on alcohol's effects makes it amusing that alcohol ads apparently must ignore them and instead promote the product's other attractions, like how prestigious the bottle looks on a mahogany cocktail bar.
AdAge reports that what happened with Patrón, the country's fastest-growing tequila, was this: The Distilled Spirits Council, trade group of the hard-liquor industry, received a complaint that the ad drew too explicit a connection between a few shots of tequila and great sex with an unbelievably good-looking partner.
The Council investigated and concluded that "the depiction of a man and a woman in bed with an open bottle of tequila at the foot of the bed, and clothes and undergarments strewn on the floor in front of the bed linked the consumption of alcohol to sexual prowess."
Put that way, it's hard to argue.
The Council worries about these things because it took years to get many media outlets to accept hard-liquor ads. The last thing it wants now is for anyone to inflame the public into demanding the ban's reinstitution.
So it asked Patrón to pull the ad, which Patrón did. It also pulled a companion ad that showed a woman in a bar under the caption "battery-powered."
All this presumably lessens the chance Patrón will license Joe Diffie's No. 1 country hit "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," even if the lyrics are a natural:
"I told her put an extra layer on
I know what happens when she drinks Patrón..."

Pacquiao batters, bloodies Cotto for 12th round TKO

Manny Pacquiao weighed 144 pounds, while Miguel Cotto weighed 145 in the Friday late afternoon weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas."

Manny Pacquiao made history Saturday night. And in the process, made a mess of Miguel Cotto's face.
Pacquiao attacked Cotto with a ferocious barrage from the start, but especially throughout the second half of the fight, and finally had done so much damage that the referee stepped in and stopped the fight 55 seconds into the 12th round, giving Pacquiao a technical knockout and Cotto's WBO welterweight best.
UNDERCARD: Rabbi-to-be wins belt
It was Pacquiao's record seventh world title in his seventh different weight class. Nobody had ever won more than six. He also has held lineal titles in four weight classes and could stake a claim to the welterweight title with a win over Cotto, who has beaten Shane Mosley.
Pacquiao's incessant barrage gave him a big edge in total punches, 780 to Cotto's 597, according to CompuBox statistics. Cotto, whose left jab was effective when he used it, threw 297 to Pacquiao's 220. But Pacquiao clearly did not need to use his jab, being able to get inside on Cotto at will, especially when he got him on the ropes.
Pacquiao nearly doubled Cotto in power shots, landing 560 to Cotto's 300, and Cotto landed just single digits in power shots from the fifth round through the end of the fight.
Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, said, "Manny fought Cotto's fight too much in the beginning and stayed on the ropes too long. As the fight went on, Manny's speed was too much for him. Manny dictated the fight. They should have stopped it three rounds sooner when Cotto began to run.
"We put pressure on him all night. That was our game plan."
Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a powerful left hook right near the end of the fourth round.
Cotto won the first and 10th rounds on each of the three judges' scorecards, but Pacquiao took the rest.
Asked if Cotto had hurt him, Pacquiao said, "Yes, sometimes. But I was very disciplined and stayed with the plan. We didn't panic."
Pacquiao said he needed time early in the fight to test Cotto's power. He also said as the fight went on, "I was looking for a one-shot knockout."
Asked after the fight who he wanted to fight next, Pacquiao said, "It's my job to fight in the ring. It's my promoter's job to make the fights.
"It was a hard fight, and this is the last weight division for me. I'm happy for my people in the Philippines and those here tonight."
Cotto was taken to the trauma unit after the fight, with 30 family and team members on his bus. He said he was sore, but felt pretty good, although his father had wanted the fight stopped well before it finally was. But Cotto wanted to fight on.
"I respected Manny before the fight and I respect a lot more now," Cotto said, both eyes nearly swollen shut. "He's probably the best fighter I ever fought."
Cotto's trainer, Joe Santiago, said he and his fighter were surprised by Pacquiao's strength. "Early on, Pacquiao took some good shots, which was a surprise. We knew he was fast, but he was a lot stronger than we thought."
While Pacquiao wouldn't say who he wanted to fight next, Roach wasn't nearly as bashful.
"Floyd Mayweather," the trainer said, without hesitation.
Round-by-round report
Round 1: Pacquiao in red trunks, Cotto in white. They feel each other out, fighting in the middle of the ring, which is where Pacquiao wants it. Cotto connects with a couple of left jabs, then counters with a left uppercut. Pacquiao scores with a left. Cotto connects with a couple lefts. Cotto using his jabs effectively. Pacquiao swings wildly and starts to go after Cotto, but Cotto ends the round with a nice combination. He wins the round. Cotto 10-9
Round 2: Pacquiao swings but misses, then after Cotto connects with a left, counters with a right. They exchange lefts, staying in the middle of the ring. Pacquiao connects on a combination, then nails Cotto with a left to the head. Cotto connects with a left hook and gets Pacquiao on the ropes, but he escapes. Pacquiao clearly the aggressor in this round. But both fighters connect on combinations, and both took punishment to the head. The last 30 seconds of the round was wild. Pacquiao 10-9.
Round 3: The crowd yells "Manny-Manny, Manny." At 2:10 of the round, Pacquiao hurts Cotto with a right hook and Cotto goes down for the count. He was shaken. Cotto goes to the body and connects. Pacquiao connects with right jabs then a left. But a Cotto uppercut scores cleanly on Pacquiao's jaw. Wild action throughout. Pacquiao 10-9
Round 4: Pacquiao comes after Cotto right away with combinations, Pacquiao connects with a left uppercut, Cotto goes to the body, but Pacquiao comes after him. Cotto has him on the ropes and punishes him right near the end of the round, Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a powerful left hook. Great round for Pacquiao, Wild action throughoutt again. Relentless punching. Pacquiao 10-8
Round 5: Cotto starts out jabbing, but Pacquiao connects with a combination; Manny staggers Cotto with a right hook. It's hard to believe they can keep up this pace. Cotto gets Pacquiao on the ropes and staggers him with a left uppercut. Pacquiao chases him at the end of the round, but give this round to Cotto. Cotto 10-9
Round 6: Cotto looking quicker than most thought he would, but Pacquiao connects with a left hook; Pacquiao hitting Cotto at will in the head; Cotto connects with a left; Cotto in the center of the ring circles and connects on Manny. Right near the end of the round, Cotto connects with a left. There's a furious exchange at the end of the round, both men land solid punches. Great fight. Pacquiao 10-9.
Round 7: Pacquiao connects with a left, then begins a furious exchange; both men connecting; Cotto using left jab well; Pacquiao connects with a left uppercut; again, Cotto uses the jab effectively, connecting several times; Cotto combination, then Pacquiao gets Cotto on the ropes and connects with a combination; round ends with Pacquiao nailing Cotto with a quick left; give the round to Cotto. Cotto 10-9.
Round 8: Cotto connects with left hook but doesn't hurt Pacquiao. Another combo by Cotto; Cotto again connects with a left jab. Pacquiao chasing him around the ring but gets Cotto in corner and connects with a left to the head. Powerful left hook by cotto; folloowed by a straight right; Pacquiao gets him on the ropes and punishes Cotto in the last 20 seconds of the round. Cotto looking weary. Pacquiao 10-9.
Round 9: Cotto connects with a right uppercut, then connects with a combination; Pacquiao has Cotto on the ropes and begins a relentless barrage; Cotto taking great punishment; his right eye is nearly swollen shut. Big round for Pacquiao; not sure how much longer Cotto can take this kind of punishment. Pacquiao 10-9.
Round 10: Pacquiao looking strong, pursues Cotto; connects with a right hook. Pacquiao headhunting on cotto; takes off on him every time he gets him near the ropes; again, Pacquiao delivers fierce combinations. Pacquiao ends the round with a solid right. Cotto's only hope at this point appears to be a knockout, but that looks unlikely as Pacquiao keeps getting stronger. Pacquiao 10-9.
Round 11: Pacquiao gets Cotto in the corner and goes after him. Cotto taking great punishment; again Pacquiao gets him in the corner and tees off; Pacquiao exhorts Cotto to come and fight. Wild right misses by Pac. Cotto appears pretty helpless at this point. Cotto's corner wants to call the fight, but Cotto wants to go back for the 12th. And he does. 10-9 Pacquiao
Round 12: Pacquiao chases Cotto and goes in for the kill, but before he can, the referee calls the fight and it ends on a 12th round TKO for Pacquiao, who makes history by winning his seventh belt in his seventh different weight class. Cotto's face is a mess. Strong fight by Pacquiao. Is Mayweather next?
